Description: When a censored word is used on UBB, the whole word is replaced with stars. This mod only censors the middle letters in the word, leaving the first and last letters intact. This helps the community to stay clean from foul language, but at the same time does not make posts lose their context.

I've noticed on several communities that I regularly visit that UBB's censor can be somewhat overbearing at times. Sometimes words are wrongly censored, which can lead to confusion for visitors or makes posts lose their context. This mod helps communities avoid these problems while still enforcing the rules of the censor to keep everything suitable for both younger and older participants.

I'm classing this mod as final, since it doesn't have any bugs (it only involves editing one very small and simple sub). It just needs features adding onto it. I could probably fit in a CP interface to allow handling of the censor slightly easier, but the only thing I'm concerned about with this release is just getting the basics out as early as possible.

If anyone could test this on 6.4/6.5 to see if it works on those versions too, I'd appreciate it very much.

I may install a 6.4 release just to test it for you, but i'm waiting on PostNuke to install on one of my test sites (the joys of working for a webhost).

Umm, you should take my sugguestion from the admin forum... Have censor replacements... where f__k could be translated into another word or set of words all together :x...

I'll be on that one next, but it'd be more of a completely different mod than an addition to this one... They both involve the same basic subroutine though.
